NYC! Day 4

so what happened on day 4. sorry for the late post tho.

this is was the first time i actually had to find my way from jersey to the city (manhattan). i woke up a little earlier so that i can catch the bus into the city. i so almost missed the bus, had to flag them down since they come every hr or so. paid my $4 and got on. the bus from jersey didnt look like the normal bus, it was more like those tour buses with the tvs in them. took about 30 mins or so to get into port authority station. its pretty much like central station here in chicago. i've never been to central station but the port authority station feels like the airport. when i first got in, all i see is food marts and electronics stores everywhere. i didnt even know how to get out of that place. i actually roamed around for about 15 mins before i got out. its wasnt that big but i think i went in circles for a bit.

when i finally got out, i realized i had to figure out how to get places. so i went up to the information booth and asked for a subway map, instead the guy gave me this big ass book with tons of stuff in it. it had tons of stuff but i just used the city map and subway the whole time. i asked him if i should just train it to central park which was on 59th st but i was on 42nd st. he asked if i was a wuss and then told me i can just walk it since it wasnt long. i was like ok, i guess i'll walk it. dude that wasnt short at all but it was nice just being able to walk down manhattan and seeing all the little stores everywhere. it felt like uptown back in the day but just bigger and longer. 

finally got to central park and man is this place big. its also clean as hell eventho the rest of ny is dirty, haha. i wondered around for about 4hrs taking pictures and seeing all the cool things there and i only made it about halfway thru the park. i got to about where the met was around 86th st and had to go back to 59th st since i needed to get to brooklyn to meet my friends. while i was walking back i saw that central park had a zoo. i was like wtf, i wandered around this whole time and didnt even see the zoo?

took the subway to brooklyn and met up with two of my friends that went to columbia with me. we all got into our costumes and went back into the city to check out the parade. i didnt think that this would end up as the longest night ever and it wasnt even that great. sorry for the cut off but i've typed too much already. brb later.
