What now?

so its been a week since i've been laid off. as you know i work for a company in the real estate business and the market's been horrible lately. i was one of the 11 people laid off in a company of about 50 people or so. so what now? well i gotta wait til the first of october to go and do my unemployment but as of now i've just been relaxing at home and not doing much. man when i had a job i was just sitting there counting the seconds until the day is over, and now im just bored out of my mind. as at least before i was bored and making money. well for awhile now, i've been thinking of moving away from chicago and go somewhere on the coast to find a job and live. just really needed a lifestyle change. it ended up being either san francisco or new york city. i'm really leaning towards new york at the moment and im planning on going to ny for a few days during halloween weekend to check the place out. well that's all for now. drop some recommendations of things to do and places to go if yall got any.
